Hospital staff did not see bodybuilder Luke Wood’s notes, inquest into his death hears

“How could any specialist have a full understanding of the case … without notes?” Magistrate Freund asked.

Dr Muralitharan said under questioning from counsel assisting Patrick Griffin he believed the case had been treated with urgency, despite Mr Wood not being taken for a CT scan within 30 minutes, as he requested.

Mr Wood was due to marry Ms Haddad eight weeks after his surgery. The inquest heard Mr Wood, who also suffered from cardio myopathy, told some of his treating doctors that he had taken steroids, but that the inquiry is “not about the use and abuse of anabolic steroids.” The hearing continues today.
